Breathe, Stretch, Shake, Let It Go.
If you have Mase stuck in your head right now, congratulations. If you have no idea who or what I’m talking about, watch the video at the end of this post.
Sometimes when I’m working on a project or have new ideas, I go from being really excited to being anxiety stricken.
Why? Because I start putting the “what ifs?” in my head and they take over my thoughts. I then get scared of said ideas or projects and psych myself out.
Then I worry if what I’m doing is what I should be doing or should I be doing something else? And what is that something else?
See what I mean?
But I had a moment while running the other day that I have to just go for it—whatever it is that I want to do.
It’s scary, going for it because you can fail.
“Oh my gosh! What if I fail?”
Then you do. You take a brief intermission, come back, figure out what went wrong, figure out a solution, then approach it again.
Easier said than done, sure, but it can be done and if you want it bad enough, it will be done. And sometimes if the idea you had failed, it’s really one door closing and another one opening. Cliché but it’s true.
Starting this month and into the beginning of the new year, there will be a lot of, “Just do it,” and I can already feel the tightening of my chest and panic starting to kick up.
I’m going to breathe, stretch, shake and let it go.
Whatever happens will happen, but I can look back and say I tried it and not have to wonder, “what if?”
Until next time,
