Love Your Brand From the Start

Starting your brand doesn’t have to be lonely or confusing.

“How do I make it clear to my audience what I do and prove that I’m damn good at it?”

“I don’t know what to do with my brand.”

You’ve outgrown your message and don’t know how to communicate your new message while keeping the audience that’s watched you grow.

Your current branding doesn’t reflect the change, because you don’t know how to do so.

I got your, friend.

I’m Clarissa. As a brand strategist and designer, I’ve helped small brands and businesses define who they are, develop a voice, and create a visual strategy that relates to their target over the last decade.

Many questions like, “What is your niche? Who’s your audience now? How do they find you?” are often met with deer eyes. I don’t blame them--most people start their businesses without any real understanding of who their audience is and how they got them! Sounds crazy, but also remember, when you’re starting a business, you’re starting from a broad perspective before you think to niche in.

When creating The Brand Base I thought about how I brainstormed with my clients. It starts off with wanting a new logo design or website, but they come back having a new perspective on their brand before we even start (and a new design).

Part One:

Brand Discovery

This is the most important thing you can do for your brand. You will learn how to research your competitors and find out who your customers are. You’ll learn about your brand’s audience demographics, habits, attitudes, and motivation so you know how to keep them coming, believing, and buying from you. Using the same tools I use for my brand, you’ll be able to easily execute an effective plan of action. We’ll conclude with how to define your brand, putting together a mission, vision, and brand statement.

Part Two:

Brand Tone and Voice

The Frame Now that we’ve got your research and branding down, we need to put a voice and tone to it. Both of these are the frame to your brand. We’ll find words and the right way to express them so you can create the right content that translates on all platforms. Once your voice and tone are set, we’ll use that to package your services.

Part Three:

Brand Identity

This is how you’ll want to present your brand, what the audience sees first. Because you have 2 seconds to make a first impression, it’s important this is packaged together to keep them interested.

Don’t worry about having a fancy logo; branding is more than that. In this stage, you’ll learn how to choose the right colors for your brand through color psychology, choosing the right fonts, and how to put together a brand and styling guide so you can keep it cohesive.

Part Four:

Making the Brand

Now we’re finished and it’s time to show off your new brand. We’ll talk about how to release this to the masses, why teasers are good, and how to get your audience excited about the
new reveal. We’ll also work on elevator pitches so you can confidently share your brand
with everyone.

An In-Depth at Tools You Can Use
